Some answers:
1. Old/new freeze state file formats are not compatible with each other.
2. You may need a special data disk with AR:TD, rather than just a blank disk (D64), to save your characters to. Some games require patched disks.
3. CCS64 remembers where it last loaded a game from, hence the Drive D: problem (presumably you used a CD-ROM).
4. A disk track-reading bug was fixed in a later version of CCS64 (refer to the History file).
5. Some people do have problems running the emulators on Windows XP - better staying with Windows 98 SE instead. This is a Windows XP issue, not a CCS64 issue, since CCS64 works fine with all other previous versions of Windows.

: I am having some trouble getting CCS to work with Alternate Reality. I used to run Windows 98SE with the 'older' version of CCS64 and it ran fine. I was never able to create save character disks with ANY version of ARTD I found so instead just used the FREEZE feature that worked great. I tried CCS64 in XP Pro and it would blow up with an error about unable to read drive D: Abort, Retry or Fail. So I downloaded CCS 2.0B and it would load from a freeze state just fine but when I would come against a load/disk swap it will not except the disk. It acts like I am inserting the wrong disk. So I restarted the game from scratch (i.e. - Insert disk 1 and loaded it). It loaded fine but every step I take in the game it loads from disk. Even setting it at a high load speed it is awful. The screen blanks for a second and then you can take another step, load, step, load, step. You get the idea. )
: Anyway I have finished the game and have a FREEZE state at the end and was wondering if it is a issue with XP Pro or some thoughts on how to get it up and running properly. I noticed the track currently read in the drive state was 8 while the older emulator was track 1, not sure if that has any bearing. Also are FREEZE states in the newer version backward compatible? It runs fine in XP except when it comes to loading a FREEZE state or the 'step load' when loaded from scratch. I am not sure how to troubleshoot this one and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
