Can you not remove any non-critical device drivers (e.g. keyboard) or shift them into HMA / UMB. Also, try load DOS into UMB, by having DOS=HIGH,UMB in CONFIG.SYS (I think).
Make sure you have the memory managers (HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE) loaded.
